In a quiet village surrounded by hills, there lived a young boy named Arjun. The village had a big problem—every night it was completely dark. There was no electricity, and once the sun went down, people stayed inside their homes with fear and silence.
Arjun often wondered, “Why does our village have to live in darkness?”
One evening, while visiting the nearby town, he saw bright lights everywhere. Shops were glowing, streets were shining, and people were happily walking around at night. Arjun felt amazed. He thought, “If the town can have light, why can’t my village?”
When he returned home, he told the villagers about his idea to bring light to the village. But most people laughed.
“Arjun, you are just a boy. Big problems need big solutions,” they said.
But Arjun didn’t stop believing.
The next day, he started small. He saved some money and bought a tiny solar lamp from the town. At night, he placed the lamp in the middle of the village square. For the first time, that small area had light.
Children gathered around to study. Elderly people sat and talked. The darkness slowly felt less scary.
Seeing this, the villagers became curious.
“How did you do this?” they asked.
Arjun explained the solar lamp idea. Soon, more villagers bought small lamps. One by one, houses began to glow at night.
Months later, the entire village was shining with light.
One evening, the village elder said to Arjun,
“Your small lamp didn’t just bring light—it brought hope.”
Arjun smiled and replied,
“Great change always starts with a small step.”
Moral of the Story
You don’t need to be powerful, rich, or famous to create change.
Sometimes, one small action can light up an entire world.
